  Performance

I spent decades training and performing as a singer, dancer and actor, so it was with great chagrin that I said to my Alexander Technique teacher after about two lessons: "Why did I waste all that money on voice lessons all these years when I could have been studying Alexander!"

Of course those voice lessons were not a waste.  But I got something from Alexander that I had missed in all those years of scene study and Linklater and Bel Canto and Viewpoints and Suzuki and Meisner and Action Theatre and Improv and Graham and Ballet...a sense of creating and performing from my whole, integrated self.  It was like suddenly discovering a super-power.
